Training (without death by powerpoint)
CASE STUDY: DEVON FOSTERING - BULLYING
With the very difficult and challenging subject of ‘bullying’, this film had to handle the content sensitively and yet still ensure that some plain talking and effective training was delivered.
This powerful project has gone on to be widely used for training across the UK by many agencies. Great speakers who would often be difficult or expensive to get together regularly can now be seen time and time again delivering invaluable insight and training.
Too often training sessions built around powerpoint or white boards leave staff snoozing. Video can put a real punch into the sessions.
And because it can be viewed and used time and time again often for years to come, there is a real cost benefit because travel, catering, accommodation and missed work time (all associated with traditional training) can be avoided.
Training videos can often be posted online as a way of offering added value to potential clients and it builds up a level of trust between the user and your business.
Even the best trainers can have good and bad days, so video ensures that your training session is perfect time and time and time again.
A most social media
As well as face to face training for business people, these speakers on social media were keen to use webvideo to deliver practical help and advice as well as to build an archive or online training resource.
Conference profiles
This conference on the subject of ‘neglect’ featured a superb speaker and excellent content that the organisers were keen to ensure was seen by a wider audience beyond the day’s event. Video was, and is, the answer.
